Using GetMDView
These terms apply to getmdview.com, a Markdown viewer operated under the GetMDView brand ("we", "us"). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
You may use the viewer for personal or commercial work, subject to these terms and applicable law. The viewer is currently free and requires no account. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you must have authority to do so.
Your content stays yours
You retain your rights to the documents you open, edit, and export. Using GetMDView does not transfer ownership of your content to us or give us permission to publish it. The viewer processes your Markdown locally in your browser.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use your documents and any linked images or other material. Rendering or exporting a document does not grant rights to material owned by someone else.
Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and respect the rights of others. You must not:
- Use the service for unlawful activity or to infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Disrupt the website, overload its infrastructure, or interfere with other people’s access.
- Attempt unauthorized access to the service or bypass its security protections.
- Use the website to distribute malware or malicious content.
Outputs and backups
Markdown rendering can differ between tools and browsers. Review the preview, copied HTML, downloaded files, and print output before relying on or sharing them.
Browser storage is a convenience, not a backup service. Content may be lost if you clear it, remove browser data, switch devices, or encounter a browser or storage failure. Keep your original files and save your own copies. We cannot recover documents stored only on your device.
Third-party content and services
Documents may contain links or images from other websites. Those websites and their content are not controlled or endorsed by GetMDView. Their terms, privacy practices, availability, and permissions apply when you access them. Our Privacy Policy explains browser storage, hosting, and external image requests.
Website materials
The GetMDView name, site design, and original website materials belong to their respective rights holders. Permission to use the viewer does not transfer ownership of those materials. Third-party software remains subject to its own licenses. Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted under an applicable open-source license.
Availability and warranties
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features or the service. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent availability, or compatibility with every browser or document.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors.
Limits of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, GetMDView is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. Updates will be published here with a revised date and apply to future use from that date, subject to any notice or consent required by law. If you do not agree with an update, stop using the service. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
